Natural Stone Trends for 2016 in Romania

Lately, natural stone is more popular in Romania for decoration projects, with marble, travertine or slate as the most wanted materials. According to PIATRAONLINE, Romanian market is inspired by luxury design and highlights natural materials. So, what about the natural stone trends for 2016?

"For this year, the new trend of using natural stone for decoration projects begins with travertine. As a result, the most popular are travertines that look like wood, such as Latte, Classic Vein-Cut or Wave Travertine, with peaceful beige shades and very easy to integrate into Mediterranean design, accents with increasing popularity in Romania these days" according to Mariana Brădescu, co-founder PIATRAONLINE.

All things point to marble as the superstar of this year, considering its strong comeback as the material of choice for designers and architects, especially in contemporary design concepts: "Besides white and beige marble, 2016 continues with bright color trends for unusual designs. In here we have black marble, with white veins no veins at all, or red / purple marble" adds Mariana Brădescu.

The natural stone can also be used for design statement areas and wall accents, in kitchens, living rooms, hallways or bathrooms: "This year, the stone mosaic options are opulent, such as 3D or Onyx. Also popular is the "brick"-type but white, made of Thassos marble, a material famous for its pure white."
