FoodRocks – Kitchenware design contest

Our motto #generatinginspiration comes from our passion for natural stone and this is also the credo that guides us. We wanted to demonstrate that our expertise means more than a simple warehouse of building materials or a simple online store that sells natural stone on a plaforma. We strive to becme the engine that connects creative industries. In here, our biggest challenge comes from natural stone – a material created by nature, with a beauty impossivble to replicate and still not fully understood. Being different is an everyday challenge, but it's not impossible when you really belive in your potential to change things with your daily actions. Inspiration is everywhere around, but we wanted to prove that natural stone is also able to deliver something you never imagined – emotion.

We believe that every idea is backed up by a story and for us, this begins with passion for natural stone. We strongly believe in a timeless bond between natural stone and gastronomy, a connection in cinstant development. Stone’s natural beauty is able to deliver a genuine culinary experience and the wide range of natural stone will definitely assist you with transforming gastronomy into an art. For us, stone is generating inspiration, with a potential to bring added value to any design project. So, we wanted to continue the stone story from the kitchen, helped by creative people.

With these concept, FoodRocks was born – a contest for designing kitchenware. What if our passion for stone and yours for design would blend in and become one? What if your ideas and our materials will shape a collection designed for kitchen enthusiasts? FoodRocks is a challenge for both us and creative people who plan to bring added value, a contest for stimulating all to display their ideas and design kitchenware. We provide our passion and wide range of materials you can use, from beautiful marble, to travertine, granite or even SKIN flexible slate – a flexible stone to convince you of the impossible, now possible.

The participants were analyzed by an expert jury and only 5 project made the short list. From these 5, first 3 receive 1000 Euros each and we have also 2 mentions, for 500 euros each. The winning concepts are later produced, to be put on sale by the largest natural stone online store from Romania, PIATRAONLINE. Besides, the winning projects will have their own launching event – an exhibition within the concept space from PIATRAONLINE, where celebrities from creative industries, famous chefs and restaurant owners will be able to admire their collections and launch preorders.
